藕斷絲連

比較正式的說法 - outwardly all ties are severed, but the illicit affection remains

口語的說法 - separated but still keep an ambiguous contact

中文真的是一個很神奇的語言,短短四個字可以講出這麼複雜的意思

A:

Is that weird or bored, that if I try to talk about your work, your recent project?

B:

hahaha no, coming from you it's not weird at all ...actually

B:

so hit me, what's on your mind

A:

nono I'm just asking a guy's opinion

A:

my ex BF just chatted with me on MSN

A:

he just got back from a businesstrip. and he typred his future businesstrip schedule on his MSN status.

A:

so I just ask about what he's doing there and whether he's learning new techniques and the city he'll be ... these stuffs

A:

AND he's like I'm already off work.. I don't wanna talk about this

A:

so end of the conversation

B:

umm, i think in this case he is the one who is weird, because 1 - he put the status on his msn, which means that's something he wanted people he is going to talk with to notice ...2-he just seems annoyed you aren't talking to him about the good old "extremely exciting" moments with him because sometimes guys are like that

A:

Thank you for the analysis. I kind of feel like that, but I need some outsider to prove it

B:

hehe yeah 3 brains are better than 2

A:

I had a complex relationship with him before. [sigh~] Now I try to be just a friend, but most of the time we end the conversation in a strange way like that.

B:

yeah relationships with an ex you dump can be tricky...just kinda need both people to be mature about it ...maybe in time he will grow up and things will become more normal

I think that for msn conversations, end in a sudden form is absolutely normal.
